PM Modi sets the tone for polls, showcases tenure, targets Congress
Live MintSetting the tone for the general elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday described the loosely stitched opposition alliance as “maha milavat” when compared to a decisive Bharatiya Janata Party -led National Democratic Alliance government. This kind of coalition governments have been seen by people for 30 years and people will stay away from a maha milavat government,” Modi said during his 90-minute speech in the Lok Sabha on Thursday. In a bid to attack the Congress on dynastic politics, Modi said the opposition party knew only two time spans—BC referring to “Before Congress” and AD referring to “After Dynasty”. While responding to Modi’s allegations on dynasty, Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Thursday accused the former of “stealing” from the defence forces.
