Efforts continue to trace injured elephant in Athirappilly

A special task force led by Chief Veterinary Officer Arun Zacharia continued its efforts on Thursday too to track down an elephant found with a severe injury on its forehead at Athirapilly. The team also comprises veterinarians who are on a mission to treat the elephant, which has a serious infection in its wound, after tranquilising it. Drones were deployed to assist in the search, but despite their efforts, the elephant remained elusive. The elephant was first found a few days ago within the Ezhattumukham forest station limits in Athirapilly.
