Whooping Cough Cases Soar in US, With Wisconsin and Pennsylvania Hitting Hardest

Associated Press

Whooping cough cases in the United States are at a decade-high level, with 18,506 cases reported so far this year. The increase is not unexpected, as whooping cough peaks every three to five years. However, state health officials are concerned about the number of cases in Wisconsin, where there have been about 1,000 cases so far this year compared to a total of 51 last year.
