After expressing concern for farmers, Dhankhar hails Modi’s works for them
The HinduTwo days after expressing concern over farmers’ protests and asking the Centre to hold discussions with them, Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar said in the Rajya Sabha on Thursday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi brought the issues of farmers to the centre stage. The V-P, who is ex-officio Chairman of the Upper House, said the PM prioritised farmers in every scheme, including affordable housing, solar houses, drinking water supply through taps and technology. Mr. Dhankhar said he had no doubt what was being done at the moment would gain greater momentum and that all agencies were converging to achieve it. Mr. Dhankhar, at a function in Mumbai, had asked Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to hold dialogue with protesting farmers.
