ICAR- CPCRI to hold workshop on farm journalism

The Indian Council of Agricultural Research - Central Plantation Crops Research Institute Regional Station, Kayamkulam will organise a workshop on ‘Media in the context of changing agriculture’ on January 27. In a statement issued here on Sunday, CPCRI officials said the workshop was aimed at empowering postgraduate students and trainees in journalism and visual communications on the ways to efficiently utilise the potential of media in transforming the agricultural sector. T. Pradeep Kumar, Vice Chancellor, Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies, Kochi will inaugurate the workshop at CPCRI Regional Station, Kayamkulam at 9.30 a.m. The inaugural session will be followed by three technical sessions — ‘Role of print media in the digital era: status, challenges and strategies’; ‘Contribution of farm journalism to the growth of plantation sector’; and ‘Audio-visual and digital media in agricultural technology dissemination’.
