Karnataka Senapade stages demonstration, demanding ban on Maharashtra Ekikarna Samithi in State

Activists of the Karnataka Senapade staged a demonstration in the city on Sunday condemning the recent attack on a bus conductor from NWKSRTC in Belagavi for allegedly not speaking in Marathi. The activists accused the Maharashtra Ekikarna Samithi of fomenting trouble in border areas of the State and urged the government to ban the organisation. The government should also appoint IAS officers from Karnataka, who are rooted in the culture and ethos of the State, to sensitive posts in border areas. The Karnataka Senapade alleged that despite the assault on the conductor, no senior Congress leaders spoke out against the incident and expressed regret that instead of being tough on the MES, the government was cautioning Kannada activists.
