"I can't express how upsetting it is for our ambos and our dispatch staff sitting there knowing that there are patients suffering in the community and having no ambulance to send," union spokesman Josh Karpowicz said. Demand exceeded predictions A SAAS spokesman said Monday was "an exceptionally busy day with demand for service around 5pm far above predictions". "SAAS recognises the increasing demand for ambulance services at this time and actively triages all cases, responding to the most serious first," he said.
