Patriots docked 2 OTA practices, Bill Belichick fined for offseason rules violation: Sources

New York Times

The New England Patriots were docked a pair of practices during organized team activities and head coach Bill Belichick was fined $50,000 due to a rules violation from earlier this offseason, according to league sources. Rather, the Patriots posted a schedule of voluntary special teams office hours to let players know when coaches would be available if the players were interested in dropping by for a meeting, according to a source. An NFLPA representative noticed the posted schedule during a routine visit to the facility and informed the team the schedule could give off the impression that the office hours could be mandatory. According to the collective bargaining agreement, players aren’t permitted to be at the team facility longer than four hours per day during the second phase of the offseason workout program.
