The acid attack, described as a ‘serious assault’, occurred early on Friday morning when two men allegedly tried to force their way into a property as they assaulted the occupant. The victim of the ‘terrifying’ attack remains in hospital with serious injuries. Detective Superintendent Jon Bancroft said: ‘This was a brutal and terrifying attack on a man who remains in a very serious condition.’ A search remains ongoing for the suspects, who were previously spotted in Chippenham, a rural village in Wiltshire. The attack was ‘isolated’ and ‘targeted’ and is believed to have been linked to organised crime, police said However, they are no longer in the county, police confirmed.
