Murder or suicide: Dr Payal Tadvi's body had injury marks, police await post-mortem report
India TodayThe police officer investigating Dr Payal Tadvi death case on Wednesday told a special court in Mumbai that the deceased's body had a few injury marks which needed to be probed further. The police arrested Dr Payal Tadvi's three senior colleagues - Bhakti Mehere, Hema Ahuja and Ankita Khandelwal - for allegedly abetting the suicide by tormenting her with casteist slurs. Advocate Nitin Satpute, appearing for the victim's family, alleged that the injury marks revealed Tadvi was killed and hence, the accused should be booked under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code. After Payal Tadvi ended her life last week, her family alleged that the accused doctors taunted the victim by ragging and hurling casteist abuses as she belonged to a Scheduled Tribe.
