In Bayulu, 10 kilometres south of Fitzroy Crossing and 2500km north of Perth, a new op shop is helping people recover after record-breaking floods. “ putting up a post and within two weeks there's usually around 100 kilos of goods turning up at the post office.” Ms Egerton said the Valley has had a hard time recovering. “The Remote Op Shop Project is not only doing good in the communities, but we're also reducing waste and creating environmental impact.” It has inspired Gooniyandi woman Deborah Carter to volunteer to run this year’s Christmas Drive. “I think a campaign like this is great to support some of our kids in community, especially after the floods.” Ms Carter said op shops filled gaps where flood relief funding had limits. “Kids lost a lot of personal stuff as well, so those smaller stuff like bikes and trampolines and things like that.” Ms Patrick's op shop is becoming popular among Fitzroy Valley communities.
