Allahabad HC asks UP Government to submit report on appointment of 68,500 teachers

The Allahabad High Court has directed the Uttar Pradesh government to submit a progress report about an ongoing inquiry into alleged irregularities in the appointment process of 68,500 assistant basic education teachers in the state on September 20. State lacks qualified educators Previously, on the occasion of Teachers' Day, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the state lacks qualified educators and it was not a shortcoming of his government but the education system, which has failed to produce excellent teachers. For this, 1.05 lakh applications were received, but 41,556 candidates could clear the examination," Adityanath said at a programme to mark Teachers' Day in Lucknow. "If we are not able to provide qualified teachers, then I feel that the shortcoming is not on the part of the government, but on the part of the education system, as it has failed in providing excellent teachers," he said.
