Kozhikode: Swiping facility is hit with travellers

Kozhikode: The swiping machines installed at major ticketing counters under the Palakkad division of Southern Railway are getting good response from the public. The machines have been installed at 18 passenger reservation systems across the Palakkad division and 12 Integrated Unreserved Ticketing System counters, besides seven parcel centres. Southern Railway Palakkad division PRO M.K Gopinath said, “during the initial stage of implementation at major stations like Kozhikode, Palakkad and Mangaluru, there were some technical issues related to refund which slightly delayed the expansion of the installation in the division. At present, the PoS machines are not available at four PRS locations, namely- Mangalore junction, Mangalore satellite PRS location, Kanhangad and Pollachi.
