A Single Judge Bench of Justice Anu Malhotra of the Delhi High Court has issued notice on a petition alleging illegal detaining and beating of a man involved in a matrimonial dispute by the Delhi Police and directed the police to to file a status report on the incident.The alleged incident took place at the Turkman Gate Police Post at New Delhi, and the petitioner, one Umair Siddiqui, has. A Single Judge Bench of Justice Anu Malhotra of the Delhi High Court has issued notice on a petition alleging illegal detaining and beating of a man involved in a matrimonial dispute by the Delhi Police and directed the police to to file a status report on the incident. The alleged incident took place at the Turkman Gate Police Post at New Delhi, and the petitioner, one Umair Siddiqui, has stated that the entire incident would have been the recorded and stored in the two CCTV cameras installed at the Turkman Gate Police Post. Aggrieved by the police's malfeasance as well non-registration of FIR on the said incident, the petitioner therefore moved the Delhi High Court seeking an impartial preliminary inquiry and the placing on record of all CCTV footages pertaining to the incident.
