Insurgents checked IDs, shot soldiers: Survivors recount Pak train hijack

Passengers who were aboard the Jaffar Express that was hijacked by the separatist insurgent group Baloch Liberation Army on Tuesday, recounted the horror that unfolded inside the carriage. Bashir, a survivor who was travelling along with his wife and two children, was asked by the insurgents to get down the train and not "look back" during the process. Mushtaq Muhammad, who was present in bogie number three, said the firing happened after a "very large explosion" following which the train stopped. "From our bogies, I think they took at least 11 people and said they were security personnel," Ishaq Noor said. A senior police official said that as of Wednesday morning, the train remains "on the spot and the armed men are holding passengers".
