Apple May Introduce Macs with Cellular Connectivity

Apple is planning to bring out its in-house modem to market and this could pave the way for slimmer iPhones, cellular-connected Macs, and headsets. The modem will help Apple to create a smartphone 2mm thinner than the iPhone 16 Pro, and also in the future, it will allow for new designs, which include foldable devices, reported Bloomberg. Apple is also exploring the idea of bringing cellular connectivity to Macs, but it is unlikely to arrive in 2025 but can be expected in 2026, when it brings out the second-generation modem. Apple looks to bring a second-generation modem dubbed “Ganymede” in 2026, and it is expected to be featured in the iPhone 18 series lineup and iPads.
