Hyderabad Encounter : Supreme Court Grants Second Extension By 6 Months For Probe Panel
Live LawThe Supreme Court bench comprising of Chief Justice of India, Justice A.S. Bopanna and Justice V. Ramasubramanian on Friday extended by six months the time for the inquiry commission to conclude the probe and submission of final report in Hyderabad encounter killing of 4 men accused of gang rape and murder of a veterinarian on December 6, 2019. This is the second occasion wherein the Apex Court had granted six months time to the Commission for submitting its final report. The Apex Court had on earlier occasion constituted the Inquiry Commission for inquiring into the circumstances in which the four accused persons namely, Mohammed Arif, Chintakunta Chennakeshavulu, Jolu Shiva and Jollu Naveen, were killed in Hyderabad on 6th December 2019. Subsequently, the Bench granted six months further time to the Commission for concluding the probe and submit the final report.
