M K Stalin lacks etiquette, says CM Edappadi K Palaniswami
Deccan ChronicleNamakkal: Bemoaning that DMK leader M K Stalin lacked even common etiquette in his campaign speeches, the AIADMK senior leader and Chief Minister, Edappadi K Palaniswami said the former was speaking indiscreetly as his “dreams of toppling the AIADMK government is not coming true” in this election. Mr. Palaniswami faulted the Kongu outfit, KMDK candidate, contesting Namakkal as part of DMK-led front, for contesting in DMK symbol ‘Rising Sun’. Refuting Stalin’s allegation that the AIADMK government refused to give a piece of land on Marina sands for laying to rest the mortal remains of the late DMK leader M Karunanidhi, the Chief Minister said the state had offered land in government estate where the Kamaraj memorial is situated. “We expressed our inability as there were court cases against allotting land on the beach for former CMs’ and in view of some other cases, but Stalin is so small-minded that he is lying on this issue,” charged Edappadi, adding, “we respect the sacrifices of all political leaders and allotted land for their respective memorials.” Mr. Palaniswami also assured that a protected drinking water supply scheme for Namakkal will be implemented, sourcing it from Cauvery.
