Universal Account Number is a unique identification number provided to the members of the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation. Since all the important services are now operated online, UAN allows a Provident Fund account holder to access their services, such as withdrawal, checking EPF balance without depending on the employer and it has also made the process of obtaining the PF loan application easy. Here's how you can create a UAN number online: Employees can now create their own UAN number online and can have their 12-digit number ready to check the total balance in their PF account. After the process is completed, you will get your UAN number and password on your registered number and the details can be checked by logging into the EPFO portal. Employees can continue with the old UAN number: Whenever an employee changes his or her job, the EPF account number and member ID change but the UAN number remains unaltered.
