Skoda Auto Volkswagen India announces Rs 1 crore financial aid to fight coronavirus pandemic

Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Pvt Ltd has announced a financial aid of Rs 1 crore directed towards setting up a dedicated facility for Covid-19 patients at Sassoon Hospital in Pune. The facility will have capacity of 1,100 beds and this contribution will help procure essential medical consumables and critical care equipment for the medical team and the patients fighting the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Skoda Auto Volkswagen India is also lending support by producing face shields at its Chakan facility along with facemasks for indoor and outdoor use by healthcare professionals. Globally, SAVWIPL’s parent company, Skoda Auto, in collaboration with the Czech Technical University, Prague, has developed and is engaged in the production of reusable FFP3 respirators for hospitals using 3D printers.
