TVK chief Vijay demands fair investigation in alleged financial irregularities in Tasmac

Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam president Vijay on Sunday demanded a fair investigation into the financial irregularities alleged by the Enforcement Directorate in the Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation Limited, popularly known as Tasmac, to the tune of ₹ 1,000 crore. Referring to several alleged irregularities exposed by the ED in Tasmac, involving distillery companies and bottling entities, Mr. Vijay, in a statement, said, “These charges could be interpreted as those who have much knowledge and experience in committing frauds would only be able to perpetrate such a large-scale scam. With deep investigation, small fishes to giant whales would be caught in this scam.” Raising doubts on whether there will be a fair investigation on the issue, Mr. Vijay, once again, indirectly accused the BJP and the DMK of having a secret alliance. “The DMK would have planned to face the 2026 Assembly election and arrogantly claimed to win 200 seats, only using the money swindled by committing such financial frauds.
