Techie ends life in Raidurgam, husband booked for harassment

A 25-year-old software employee ended her life at her residence in Raidurgam, allegedly unable to bear the persistent harassment from her husband, just six months into their marriage. The deceased, identified as Devika, married 28-year-old Sharad Chandra in August 2024, and the couple was living in Prashant Hills, Manikonda. Venkanna, Sharad had allegedly been pressuring Devika to transfer ownership of a property registered in her mother’s name to him, which used to lead to repeated quarrels between them. Based on a complaint filed by Devika’s mother, the Raidurgam police have registered a case against Sharad under charges of dowry harassment and abetment to suicide.
