Arizona Fall League season in review: How Josue Briceño, Andrew Painter and others fared

Five weeks ago, the Arizona Fall League kicked off and we previewed the prospect showcase by highlighting at least one player to watch from each organization. Other notable performer: Eriq Swan, RHP Although Swan’s ERA was 5.19 in 8 2/3 innings, he was considered one of the breakout stars on the pitching side this fall. Other notable performer: Landon Harper, RHP Harper, a 2022 14th-round pick, finished the regular season with a strong stint in Double A, where he had a 1.41 ERA and a 40:9 K:BB in 51 innings. Other notable performer: Allan Hernandez, RHP The Guardians’ entire pitching contingent impressed this fall, but Hernandez stood out with a 3.48 ERA and 12 strikeouts in 10 1/3 innings. Other notable performer: Alex Santos II, RHP The 72nd pick in the 2020 draft out of a Bronx, N.Y., high school, Santos hasn’t found his footing during the minor-league regular season yet, but he opened some eyes this fall, leading the league with 26 strikeouts in 17 2/3 innings.
