A season of political storms for Jagan Mohan Reddy
India TodayAt a time when former Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy already battles allegations of corruption in the Adani solar power contracts case, another blow has come his way. The Crime Investigation Department of the state police is investigating allegations of forced acquisition of shares in Kakinada Seaports Limited and Kakinada Special Economic Zone by a private firm linked to V. Vijayasai Reddy, a Rajya Sabha member and senior leader of Jagan’s Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party. Those named in the FIR include V. Vijayasai Reddy; his son-in-law’s brother Sarath Chandra Reddy, who is also an accused in the Delhi excise policy case; Y. Vikranth Reddy, son of Jagan’s uncle Y.V. Subba Reddy, who is also a party Rajya Sabha member; Sarath Chandra’s family-run Aurobindo Realty and Infrastructure Pvt Ltd, to which the shares were sold; and the accounting firm PKF Sridhar & Santhanam LLP, which was hired by the YSRCP regime to conduct audits of Rao’s businesses.
