US teen Lucas Etter solves Rubik's Cube in 4.9 seconds to break world record

A 14-year-old boy has set a new record after he solved a Rubik's cube in under five seconds to smash the previous time set by another teenager. Young speedcuber Lucas Etter beat the 3x3 record by 0.35 seconds while taking part in the River Hill Fall competition in Clarksville, Maryland. Quick mind: Young speedcuber Lucas Etter beat the previous 3x3 record with a reported time of just 4.9 seconds He then jumped to his feet in celebration upon successfully completing the cube as the clock was stopped at 4.904 seconds. Collin's world record was actually beaten twice on the day, when Keaton Ellis solved his cube in just 5.09 seconds in the River Hall Fall competition, reported Fivethirtyeight.
