MLC polls: 65.59% of voters exercise franchise in Krishna-Guntur graduates constituency

The Krishna-Guntur graduates constituency registered a voter turnout of 65.59% during the MLC elections between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Thursday. Though polling concluded by 4 p.m., the election authorities expect that the poll percentage would touch 70%, considering the voters who joined the queues at polling stations by the deadline. Returning Officer and Guntur Collector S. Nagalakshmi told The Hindu that a voter turnout of 59.95% was recorded in last MLC polls held in this constituency six years ago. The voters exercised their franchise at 483 polling booths set up in 167 locations spread across Eluru, Krishna, NTR, Guntur, Bapatla and Palnadu districts in the constituency.
