Hunt to raise Living Wage by £1 an hour to benefit three million workers

The minimum wage is to increase by £1 an hour to £11.44 from next April, as Jeremy Hunt gave a boost to almost three million of the poorest workers. The full minimum wage, officially known as the National Living Wage, is currently set at £10.42 per hour. End low pay Mr Hunt had said: “Next April, all full-time workers on the National Living Wage will get a pay rise of over £1,800 a year. “The National Living Wage has helped halve the number of people on low pay since 2010, making sure work always pays,” he told the conference.
