Women's panel seeks action against Rahul Gandhi over BJP MP's 'misconduct' charge
India TodayA day after BJP MP Phangnon Konyak from Nagaland alleged that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi misbehaved with her, the National Commission for Women on Friday urged Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar to take strict action. Konyak, a tribal BJP MP from Nagaland, alleged that Rahul Gandhi came into her "close proximity" and shouted at her during a protest outside parliament on Thursday, making her feel “extremely uncomfortable”. "My dignity and self-esteem have been deeply hurt by LoP Rahul Gandhi ji," she wrote in a complaint to Dhankhar, who assured her the matter would be examined. The Congress denied the allegations, and Rahul Gandhi alleged that it was the ruling party MPs who “stopped, threatened, and intimidated” him.
