Nabody was one of 52 people from sub-Saharan African countries who were found on Tuesday on board a vessel near the island of Gran Canaria, after spending five days in the Atlantic Ocean following their departure from Dakhla on the Western Sahara coast. The toddler’s dramatic rescue made the front pages of several Spanish newspapers and highlighted the plight of people fleeing violence or seeking better lives in Europe.
