Dharavi Redevelopment Project renamed to Navbharat Mega Developers
Dharavi Redevelopment Project Private Ltd, the Adani-backed entity responsible for transforming the slums of Dharavi in Mumbai, has officially rebranded itself as Navbharat Mega Developers Private Ltd. The rebranding is not only a fresh identity but also a strategic move to prevent confusion with the Dharavi Redevelopment Authority, the government’s planning body overseeing the project. NMDPL emphasised that the change in name does not impact the government’s crucial role or the core objectives of the Dharavi redevelopment. NMDPL, a special-purpose vehicle formed between the Maharashtra government, through the Slum Rehabilitation Authority, and the Adani Group, is in charge of executing the massive 600-acre Dharavi Redevelopment Project.
