Supreme Court to pronounce order on rebel Karnataka MLAs pleas Wednesday

Live Mint

The Supreme Court on Tuesday reserved its order on pleas of 15 rebel Karnataka legislators seeking direction to the state assembly speaker to accept their resignation. A division bench comprising Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi and Justices Deepak Gupta and Aniruddha Bose reserved its order in the case after hearing the parties in a daylong hearing. The Supreme Court will pronounce the order on whether to issue a direction to Assembly Speaker K.R. The court on Friday ordered status quo to be maintained by Speaker of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly with respect to the resignation and disqualification of 10 rebel legislators.
