Drone survey for aerial mapping of land in Murungapakkam villlage commences

The Hindu

The administration has commenced drone surveys on a pilot basis in Murungapakkam villlage for aerial mapping of land and integration of updated details with property tax records. This follows the government ordering for the re-survey of land in the Union Territory of Puducherry using modern technologies and the Revenue department inking a Memorandum of Understanding with the Survey of India. From the Ortho Rectified Image of Murungapakkam Revenue Village, land survey numbers and a proper digital map would be created with all the attributes in revenue records. The Field Measurement Book would be created based on the survey of lands carried out using modern survey tools, such as Real time Kinematics and Electronic Total Station.
