Trinamool Seeks Disqualification Of Rebel MP From Lok Sabha

Embarrassed by his actions, Trinamool Congress on Tuesday sought disqualification of rebel MP Kabir Suman, from the Lok Sabha for anti-party activities. The action came a day after the singer-turned-politician sent an SMS to Trinamool chief Mamata Banerjee announcing his resignation from the party as well as his decision to quit from the Lok Sabha. Lok Sabha sources said Trinamool Congress has written to Speaker Meira Kumar seeking Suman's disqualification. The action by Suman came a week after Banerjee asked the disciplinary committee to prepare a report on his public outbursts against alleged corruption in the party and sympathy towards Maoists, in contravention of the party's stand.
