Over 3,400 special buses, 20 special trains to be operated to Tiruvannamalai for Maha Deepam
The Hindu: Over 3,400 special buses and 20 special trains will operate to Tiruvannamalai town for Maha Deepam on December 13. Collector D. Bhaskara Pandian, along with Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department officials, inspected the arrangements in place, including civic amenities such as temporary bus stands and sanitary facilities on Girivalam path and Arunachaleswara temple premises on Wednesday. In view of this, the district administration has set up 25 temporary bus stands — on the outskirts — which could accommodate over 3,000 buses at a time. 32 mini-buses As vehicles would be restricted, the Transport Department has put in place 194 buses, mostly school buses, to operate free shuttle services between the temporary bus stands and the 14-km Girivalam path and Arunachaleswara temple.
