Army sets up biodegradable sanitary napkin facility in Ladakh

India Today

The Indian Army has set up a biodegradable sanitary napkin production facility, under 'Operation Sadbhavana', at Martselang village in Ladakh. The project aims to improve menstrual hygiene and promote environmental sustainability in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh regions. Run by local women, the facility produces good quality, affordable, biodegradable, and UV-treated sanitary napkins. The project not only creates economic opportunities for women but also raises awareness about menstrual hygiene in underserved parts of Ladakh.
