Puducherry CM assures BIS team of support to use of standard marked products
The HinduChief Minister N. Rangasamy has assured a visiting delegation from the Bureau of Indian Standards of extending cooperation to efforts to mainstream usage of standard marked products. The BIS team, led by G. Bhavani, Scientist-F & Head G. Venkatanarayanan, Scientist-E, and accompanied by representatives of industry-academia, which called on the Chief Minister sought implementing the usage of Indian Standards in the Puducherry UT Procurement Policy. The Chief Minister was urged to direct all departments to insist on Standard marked products so that the schemes implemented for the benefit of people had products with an assurance of quality. The Chief Minister assured the team that the Government would offer full support to BIS in its efforts, the press note said.
