Instagram introduces QR codes to obtain user profile information via camera app
Instagram has introduced universal QR codes that can be scanned from any third-party camera app. As noted by 9to5Mac, the code for sharing Instagram profiles is relatively familiar with the difference being that previously the app generated a proprietary code that could only be scanned by Instagram’s built-in camera. With the current update, QR codes are universal and now anyone can access Instagram profiles through any camera app that supports QR code reading. Users have the option to select colours, emoticons, and even take selfies while generating QR codes on Instagram.
