South-east Queensland is going into lockdown: Here are some of the COVID-19 restrictions
ABCFollowing news of six locally acquired cases of the Delta strain being reported in Queensland, Deputy Premier Steven Miles has announced 11 local government areas in south-east Queensland will go into lockdown on Saturday. There are 11 LGAs in south-east Queensland which will go into lockdown from Saturday afternoon, they are: Brisbane City Moreton Bay Regional Council Gold Coast Ipswich Lockyer Valley Regional Council Logan City Noosa Shire Council Redland City Scenic Rim Regional Council Somerset Regional Council Sunshine Coast Regional Council People in those areas have been urged to stay home immediately if they can. He said affected Queenslanders can only leave home for four reasons: To obtain essential goods.. To attend essential work, school, or child care.. To exercise with only one person who is not from your household. Funerals will be restricted to 10 people within those 11 LGAs from 4:00pm today Weddings will also be restricted to 10 people within those 11 LGAs from 4:00pm today There will be no community sport or professional sport allowed for the next three days Personal visitors are not allowed at aged care centres, hospitals, disability care centres and correctional facilities.
