Vidit Gujrathi disappointed after Arjuna Award snub

Indian Grandmaster Vidit Gujrathi on Friday said he was disappointed after being snubbed for the Arjuna Award again. “This has been the case for years, and I never spoke about it, but I hoped 2024 would finally be the breakthrough,” wrote Vidit on social media platform X formerly known as Twitter. He also emerged victorious in the 2023 Grand Swiss Chess tournament and qualified for the 2024 Candidates tournament. In the Hangzhou Asian Games, he won silver in the men’s team event along with D. Gukesh, Arjun Erigaisi, Pentala Harikrishna and R. Praggnanandhaa.
