Left's youth wing collects over Rs 20 crore for Wayanad landslide relief

The Democratic Youth Federation of India, the youth wing of the Communist Party of India, has raised Rs 20.44 crore to support victims of the Wayanad landslide. “We had made an announcement that we will raise funds to build 25 houses for those who lost theirs,” said DYFI State Secretary VK Sanoj. Our volunteers were involved in running tea stalls, climbing coconut trees, and taking up daily wage labour to raise funds,” he added. The DYFI had previously raised over Rs 10 crore during the COVID-19 pandemic through similar methods, including collecting and selling scrap materials.
