Mr Kimmel, host of late-night talk show Jimmy Kimmel Live, ran a segment about Truth Social, Donald Trump’s social media platform, earlier this week in which he claimed the platform has lost $73 million since its launch. “It’s only an abysmal failure.” Trump Media and Technology Group, the parent company of Truth Social, lost nearly $23 million in the first half of 2023, raising concerns over the viability of the platform. Mr Kimmel called the demand for an apology “pretty darn hilarious,” citing Mr Trump’s $250 million fraud case currently playing out in a New York courtroom.
