500 ex-servicemen deployed in Delhi's Narela amid security concerns

India Today

Amid growing concerns over deteriorating law and order in outer Delhi, particularly in Narela, Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has rolled out a series of measures to tighten security and improve civic infrastructure in the area. A key step in this initiative is the deployment of 500 ex-servicemen to provide round-the-clock security for Delhi Development Authority housing societies in Narela. To further strengthen security, new police beats will be set up in vacant DDA flats to ensure quick response times and accessible policing. During a review of Narela’s security and civic services, Saxena directed authorities to curb illegal encroachments, improve public amenities, and enhance policing efforts.
