"The bank balance doesn't look too good, that's for sure," Mr Fortescue said. "Normally we've got a bit of feed behind us, but we haven't been able to do that this year," Mr Fortescue said. "You've got this huge volatility in your cost base and often that's going up at times like these, whereas the price doesn't change as quickly," he said.
