Andhra Pradesh govt. delegates certain powers of Development Authorities to ULBs and Gram Panchayats
The HinduThe Government of Andhra Pradesh issued a G.O. Metropolitan Region and Urban Development Authorities Act, 2016, to the Urban Local Bodies and Gram Panchayats falling in the jurisdiction of the DAs. stated that the municipal corporations and municipalities were vested with the powers to give building permissions in all categories, all types of layout approvals, approvals of sub-division of plots in approved layouts in all categories, and take all enforcement actions against all unauthorised developments. The Nagar Panchayats were empowered to give building permissions, except to group development schemes and high-rise buildings, approve layouts of up to three acres along with the Regional Deputy Director of Country Planning, approve sub-division of plots in approved layouts, and take all enforcement actions. said the GPs could give permissions to residential buildings up to plot areas of 300 square metres and 10 metres height, excluding stilt, in the areas permissible as per rules in the normal course, and take all enforcement actions, but in coordination with the Urban Development Authorities concerned.
