Triple talaq, Article 370 among 42 reforms Centre lists for publicity amid farmers' protest | Exclusive

The Narendra Modi-led government has drawn up a list of 42 key reforms, including Triple Talaq and Article 370, it has brought in the last six years, for publicity. Even as the new agriculture laws have triggered protests by farmers, the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund has been listed among 42 initiatives that the NDA government feels have made a big difference. The other listed reforms are the Goods and Services Tax, Swachh Bharat Mission aimed at creating a cleanliness movement, creation of the post of Chief of Defence Staff, abolition of Triple Talaq and making it a criminal offence after a Supreme Court judgment called it unconstitutional in 2017. Other big policy decisions that have been put in the category of reform and need more publicity according to the government are Ujjwala Scheme under the Ministry of Power, Udan under the Ministry of Civil Aviation, labour code under the Ministry of Labour, Skill India under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, the National Education Policy under the Ministry of Education and Beti Bacho Beti Padhao.
