Satyendar Jain accused of taking Rs 7 crore bribe in CCTV 'scam', case filed

The Anti-Corruption Branch of the Delhi government has filed a case against former PWD minister and AAP leader Satyendar Jain over alleged corruption in a Rs 571-crore CCTV project, an official said on Wednesday. Jain is accused of arbitrarily waiving liquidated damages worth Rs 16 crore imposed on Bharat Electronics Limited for delays in installing CCTV cameras in Delhi, Joint Commissioner of Police Madhur Verma was quoted as saying by news agency PTI. BJP CLAIMS SATYENDAR JAIN, ARVIND KEJRIWAL 'MASTERMINDS' Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva alleged that Jain and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal were the masterminds of the CCTV project 'scam'. When the company delayed installing CCTV cameras, a penalty of Rs 16 crore was imposed and Jain took a bribe of Rs 7 crore and got the penalty of Rs 16 crore reduced to zero," he told news agency ANI.
