Jadavpur University Student Death Row: Six More Arrested, Chancellor Dr CV Ananda Bose To Chair Emergency Meeting At Raj Bhavan Today

The West Bengal Police have arrested six more Jadavpur University students in relation to the death of a first year student at the university due to alleged ragging. Meanwhile, Chancellor Dr CV Ananda Bose has instructed the University authorities to convene an emergency meeting of Jadavpur University Court to be chaired by Chancellor today at 5 pm at Raj Bhavan. Notably, the death of Swapnadip Kundu, a first year Bengali Honours student at Jadavpur University has created an uproar among political corridors of the state. Following the incident, West Bengal Governor Dr CV Ananda Bose who also serves as the Chancellor of Jadavpur University visited the hostel to console his father and assured him of appropriate actions against those responsible for the death.
