‘Naya Pakistan’: Fans invade the field, clash with Afghanistan fans during Cricket World Cup match
Op IndiaThe ‘Naya’ Pakistan is not anything new and still behaving like an arrogant kid who misbehaves with everyone after losing a game. Invading the pitch and clash between the fans is not new in any sports, but in cricket, you will always find Pakistan fans as one of the sides involved in such miscreants. Only one word to describe these scenes – disgraceful #PAKvAFG pic.twitter.com/61LimPybHA — Saj Sadiq June 29, 2019 As soon as the match got over, some fans invaded the pitch, breached the security and heckled the Afghans players. In one the incidents, in 1989 a fan tore the Indian skipper, Kris Srikant’s shirt in a test match, another incident happened in 1992 when India and Pakistan players went to London to play a charity match for Imran Khan’s cancer hospital and match called off after the fans invaded the field and punched each other on the pitch. BCCI threatened Indian players with suspension for participating in any charity game after, as in one of the charity match, the national flag of India was burnt by Pakistani fans.
