CBI grills ex NSE CEO Chitra Ramkrishna, slaps foreign travel ban
India TodayA day after Income Tax raids on the premises linked to Chitra Ramkrishna, the Central Bureau of Investigation is questioning the NSE’s former Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer for allegedly sharing confidential information about the National Stock Exchange with a ‘yogi who lives in the Himalaya’, sources have told India Today. FOREIGN TRAVEL BAN The CBI has also banned Chitra Ramkrishna along with NSE’s former Group Operating Officer Anand Subramaniam and ex CEO Ravi Narain from travelling outside the country. SEBI ORDER The Sebi in its order on February 11 said, "During the course of investigation into the issue of co-location facilities at NSE, Sebi came across certain documentary evidences, which demonstrated that Notice no 1 erstwhile MD & CEO of NSE had shared certain internal confidential information of NSE viz: Organisational Structure, Dividend scenario, Financial Results, Human Resources Policy and related Issues, Response to Regulator, etc. The broker whose computer is placed in NSE’s server room gets access of market feed before other brokers allowing them to huge financial gains through stock trading.
