Irrigation department to have own buildings in Khammam district

KHAMMAM: Plans are afoot to run offices of irrigation department from government-owned buildings than private ones in Khammam district. The district has one chief engineer in Khammam, two superintendent engineers at Khammam and Kallur, six executive engineers and 24 divisional engineers in different areas of the district. The government is planning to construct 34 office buildings in the district – one chief engineer, two for executive engineer, 24 sub-division, one quality control and six section offices. The government has also built Bhakta Ramadasu Lift Irrigation Project by lifting water from Palair reservoir and supplying it to Tirumalayapalem, Khammam Rural, Mudigonda and Kusumanchi mandals.
